The warehouse is mainly, receiving, ordering, calculating, collecting, including steps such as checking and sending. These steps are also the basis for regular transfers. Warehouse operation requires a system. Storage time, product type, weight, material, etc. many factors require that we need different types of storage. And we, as YENA Engineering, are looking to provide you with quality service in these different types of warehouses.
What is the Warehouse?
A warehouse or bonded warehouse is a custom structure designed to store products of commercial value. The warehouses are mainly used by finished product manufacturers, trade companies, import and export companies, wholesalers, shipping companies and many industries in industrial regions of the cities. The warehouse can also be used as a railway, sea and air cargo loading and unloading location. To ensure smooth movement of internal objects, vehicles such as winches, trucks and wood supports, commonly known as side pallets, are used.
What are The Warehouse Types?
Warehouse types are classified under two main headings. These are; weather resistance grade and automation grade. To explain the subtopics of these ratings:
Classification by weather resistance
- Open air warehouse type
An open-air warehouse has no structure covering all four sides and the storage area. Warehouse locations are usually enclosed by walls, fences or metal materials in terms of access control. Products and materials in outdoor warehouses do not need protection from rain, sun, heat and cold. Stored materials come into direct and/or indirect contact with the weather.
- Closed warehouse type
Closed warehouses can be made by design from different materials (reinforced concrete, steel, sheet metal, etc.). The goal is to fully protect the protected material from the elements, even when controlled temperature and lighting are allowed.
- Cold weather warehouse type
A special type of closed warehouse is the cold store. These warehouses’ main purpose is direct product storage without deterioration. This maintains product durability and commercial value. Products such as meat, fish, milk, yogurt, ice cream, vegetables and fruits, and pharmaceuticals always undergo constant temperature control during transport and storage, from the first point to the consumer.
Classification by degree of automation
- Traditional warehouse type
Traditional warehouses are usually equipped with rack systems and mechanical vehicles, especially trucks. The average height is about 6-7 meters, depending on the truck capacity. The shelving system is therefore adapted accordingly.
- High density warehouse type
“High-altitude racks” are preferred, as the volume in the warehouse averages over 10 meters. So using tracks alone is not enough. Reach trucks, turret trucks, etc. Are used in higher quality vehicles and systems.
- Auto warehouse type
Automated warehouses minimize the human factor. In such camps, almost all processes are computer-assisted. Also operated stacker cranes (AS/RS), transport systems, rollers, hoists, etc. A warehouse management system that integrates all structures eliminates mistakes and losses and realizes a significant productivity improvement. Temporary Warehouses
Temporary storage means a warehouse, department store, warehouse or hangar where a vehicle stops, approaches, or lands until the goods are subject to customs clearance or after delivery by a non-freelancer. It is defined as a place where it is placed until it is used for customs clearance. Open spaces in the form of a common area of a detention area at a customs location such as a port for storage of heavy and volumetric goods are common areas of these commodities, also known as temporary warehouse commodities, where passenger goods are stored and road vehicles are stored.
The floor of the temporary storage area is made of waterproof material. Security measures are being taken to combat any emergency, such as fire, in the temporary storage area. Temporary warehouse space is created so that it does not allow intruders from the outside. An employee responsible for temporary storage is identified. Employees are responsible for keeping records, checking in and out of all products that enter and exit temporary storage areas.
Semi-Permanent Warehouses
Semi-permanent warehouses can last longer than temporary warehouses. For those who do not wish to have permanent storage, but want to have a warehouse that is a certain length of time, the type of storage they prefer must be semi-permanent storage type. Semi-permanent industrial warehouse is often used as a temporary storage building, for additional storage space. Due to the many possibilities that semi-permanent industrial hall can offer, the tent stand can also be used as a temporary showroom, supermarket, retail space and various occasions for the industry.
Permanent Warehouses
Permanent warehouses are built to store products for long periods without deterioration or deformation. For this reason, the construction of permanent warehouses is complemented by parts that cannot be removed or reassembled. Permanent warehouses are often built as closed warehouses.
Structural steel systems, where high strength is provided with the lightest materials, are the safest construction model for commercial structures and living areas. In this building model, the entire carrier system that secures the building is made of steel and is interconnected with static expertise. This is the priority building system, especially in seismic risk areas. Preserving sustainable environmental values is considered one of the most important programs of modern architecture, and steel structures with the longest lifetime and fully recyclable materials are preferred.
The intermediate columns and carrier walls, which must be used in the conventional reinforced concrete model, are not required for structures with steel construction systems. Therefore, it is easy to create very large areas with higher quotas that can never be achieved with other construction styles, with structural steel systems.
Steel Warehouse Parts
Steel is important when creating both temporary and permanent warehouses. The thing is, steel is a lightweight and robust material, so it is one of the most preferred materials. Here are the other benefits of building with steel parts:
• Against unexpected stresses (earthquake, etc.) the resistance it offers.
• Economical savings.
• It is an environmentally friendly material.
• Provides the ability to use space saving.
• Durable for a long time because it has a stainless structure.
• Reduces construction time by easy shipping.
• Simplifying heat insulation.
As YENA Engineering, we have signed many projects on structural steel parts. Temporary and semi-permanent warehouses are the most accurate solutions to meet the need for indoor space for a while. Supplying both quality and cost-effective structural steel parts, YENA Engineering is always here to serve your business purposes in a timely manner.
